Captain Jacques-Yves Cousteau, to whom the Calypso belongs, and who is the Director of the Oceanographic Museum at Monaco, has created a kind of Submarine saucer, a diving device which runs on gas, and which can take two persons to a depth of 1,000 feet. Plus de 1000 savants de 38 pays ont participé à ce congrès, dont le programme comportait une grande variété de sujets scientifiques en rapport avec l'océanographie.
