English transcription: Abu Simbel (175 miles south of Aswan, left bank). The inner court of the Great Temple. Four pillars (10 meters high) representing the god Osiris, with the features of Rameses II (1290-1223 B.C.). It is hoped that the Temple can be saved in its entirety by the construction of a special dam.
French transcription: Abou Simbel (280 km au sud d'Assouan, rive gauche) - Le pronaos du Grand Temple. Les quatre piliers osiriaques du côté nord avec les colosses (10m. de haut) représentant tous Ramsès II (1290-1223 Av. J.C.). On envisage de sauvegarder le temple dans son intégrité par un barrage.
Description: Intérieur d'un temple, on peut voir quatre statues colosses, chacune appuyée sur un pilier orné de hieroglyphes. Plafond décoré.
