English transcription: Abu Simbel (175 miles south of Aswan, left bank) - Statue of Queen Nefertari, wife of Rameses II (1290-1223 B. C.) between two of the colossi of the façade of the Great Temple. It is hoped that the temple will be preserved in its entirety by the construction of a dam.
French transcription: Abou Simbel (280 km au sud d'Assouan, rive gauche) - La statue de la reine Nefertari, épouse de Ramsès II (1290-1223 av. J.C.), située entre deux colosses de la façade du Grand Temple. On envisage de sauvegarder le temple dans son intégrité par un barrage.
Description: Statue colosse de la reine vue de dessous. On ne voit que sa poitrine et sa tête. Sa coiffure est très travaillé, elle porte une immense couronne.
