English transcription: Abu Simbel (175 miles south of Aswan, left bank). The Great Temple of Ramses II (1290-1223 B.C.). Scaffolding erected to facilitate the taking of photographs of all the details of the temple and of the archaeologists' work. It is hoped that this temple will be preserved in its entirety by the construction of a dam.
French transcription: Abou Simbel (280 km au sud d'Assouan, rive gauche). Le grand temple de Ramsès II (1290-1223 av. J.C.). Echafaudage utilisé pour la prise de vue photographique de tous les détails et du travail des archéologues. On envisage de sauvegarder le temple dans son intégrité par un barrage.
