English transcription: Campaign against illiteracy. Almost without exception, the inhabitants of the poorer districts of Mexico City are illiterate. To eradicate this problem, the Committee for Popular Culture and Literacy had set up 27 small literacy centres throughout the city, attended, in the main, by young men and women workers, but also by housewives and others interested in learning.

Le Comité d'alphabétisation et culture populaire qui a été fondé a créé dans toute la ville 27 petits centres fréquentés en majorité par les jeunes ouvriers et ouvrières, mais aussi par tous ceux qui veulent s'instruire.
