English transcription: Water pollution an international problem. Rivers and seas carrying along detergents, chemical products and refuse of all kinds, are becoming more and more polluted and, therefore, dangerous for man and aquatic life. In the face of this growing peril, a number of countries in the world launched, five years ago, an International Hydrological Decade to ensure a continuing supply of pure water for man and UNESCO has prepared a report on the first results which have been obtained.
Description: In the foreground several young children, some barefoot, at a nearly-dried-up water basin loaded with debris, especially rubber tyres and pieces of metal. One boy is walking on a wooden plank above the basin. In the background several buildings and more people with backs to camera.
