English transcription: ARAC (Awudome Residential Adult College). The work of the ARAC started in 1950. The people of Tsito have given their voluntary labour free of charge. Much work has gone into the construction of terraces and solid fundaments for the buildings which are built with hand made cement blocks. The three original buildings were completed in 1958, but there is an urgent need for more buildings, both for teaching purposes and for students accomodation. The ARAC prepares people from all over Ghana and from all sections of the community for active citizenship through short and long residential courses. The U.S. National Commission fo UNESCO met at Hunter College, New York City, January 26-27, just prior to the Commission's Third National Conference, which opened at Hunter College on the evening of January 27. Outstanding among the matters considered by the Commission members in their two-day meeting were (1) a recommendation that UNESCO consider the development of a program on international civic education for 1953-54; and (2) a proposal on ways of increasing citizen discussion of world problems critical to peace and security. The National Conference, based on the Citizen and the United Nations was a major effort of the National Commission in support of the latter proposal.
