Travelling 1.000 kilometres (600 miles), a car consumes as much oxygen as a human being does in a year, and in addition to lethal carbon monoxide, it emits annually about one kilogramme of lead. Another problem created by the proliferation of motor vehicules is how to dispose of wrecked and worn-out hulks.
