Subsubseries contains FIT agreements for the Sultanate of Oman as a recipient country.

Funds-in-Trust - Denmark : Model Funds-in-Trust project agreement between UNESCO and the Kingdom of Denmark for the project "Enhancing the Safety of Journalists in Africa and the Arab Region"

This Funds-in-Trust agreement is signed with UNESCO by the Permanent Delegation of the kingdom of Denmark to UNESCO and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. It contains three annexes, including a Project Document.

Funds-in-Trust - Saudi Arabia : Executive Programme Framework Agreement for the Establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Funds-in-Trust at UNESCO to support the protection and promotion of Culture and Heritage

This agreement takes place in line with a Memorandum of Understanding signed on 2019 to strengthen the cooperation of the Parties in the field of culture and cultural Heritage, and with the National Cultural Strategy launched in 2019 for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It contains two annexes, including a programme outline for "Culture and Digital Technologies: an opportunity for sustainable development." in both Arabic and English).

Second Protocol to the 1954 Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict

Subsubseries contains ratifications of the 1999 Second Protocol to the Hague Convention of 1954 for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict. If a county ratified the Convention and the First Protocol at the same time as the Second Protocol, all instruments should be filed together in this subsubseries. The Archives staff seem to have skipped registration code numbers on several occasion.

Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as Waterfowl Habitat, Ramsar, 2 February 1971

Subsubseries consists of legal instruments relating to the International Conference on the Conservation of Wetlands and Watefowl held at Ramsar, Iran, 30 January – 3 February 1971, and the ensuing Convention. They are arranged roughly in chronological order (registered sequentially upon transfer to the Archives). Subsubseries A/398/C was started by the Archives to register instruments created after the 1982 Protocol, however the practice was stopped and the subsubseries was closed soon after the Conference of the Contracting Parties on 28 May 1987. Post-Protocol instruments can therefore be found in both subsubseries. The original Convention with signatures is in this subsubseries registered under code A/398/0.

Member State Ratification documents of the UNESCO Constitution

This series consists of digitized copies of official documents of adherence to the UNESCO Constitution by UNESCO Member States, known as ratification instruments, dating from the establishment of the Organization in 1945 up to the most recent ratifications. The original documents are physically held in the UK National Archives in Kew.

Since the establishment of UNESCO on 16 November 1945 during the Conference for the Establishment of UNESCO, held at the Institute of Civil Engineers in London, UNESCO’s original Constitution, along with every formal acceptance of the Constitution by Member States, have been deposited in the UK Foreign Office. The documents are transferred by the UK Foreign Office in London to the UK National Archives in Kew, which currently still holds them. UNESCO in Paris is notified by the UK Foreign Office of the deposit of each ratification document.

From 2020 to 2021, to mark UNESCO’s 75th anniversary, the UK National Commission for UNESCO, the UK Permanent Delegation to UNESCO, the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, and the UNESCO Archives worked with the UK National Archives to digitize each UNESCO Member State ratification instrument. The digitization of the documents was funded by the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

Subsubseries contains legal instruments concerning both the First Meeting of the High Contracting Parties to the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict which took place in Paris, 1962, as well as ratifications and letters of accession to the First Protocol that were sent or deposited seperately from instruments relating to the Convention or the Second Protocol.

Protocol to Amend the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as Waterfowl Habitat

Subsubseries consists of the Protocol and legal instruments following its adoption, such as ratification instruments. The subsubseries also includes the first instruments registered following the Conference of the Contracting Parties on 28 May 1987, however, the subsubseries was closed in 1988, and so all instruments from that time forward are registered under subsubseries A/398/A. Also, some Protocol-related instruments will be filed under the appropriate country files in A/398/A. The instruments are roughly in chronological order (registered sequentially upon transfer to Archives).
