English transcription: Mohenjo Daro, ancient capital of the four thousand year old civilisation of the Indus Valley is, today, nothing more than an immense ruin alowly being eaten away by corrosive salts from the Indus river and irrigation canals. At the request of the Government of Pakistan, three missions from UNESCO have been despatched there in order to plan appropriate measures for its protection, in particular, the necessity to pump out the saline water.
French transcription: Mohenjo Daro, grande capitale de la civilisation de la Vallée de l'Indus, il y a 4000 ans, n'est plus, maintenant, qu'un immense champ de ruines rongé par les sels des eaux de l'Indus et des canaux d'irrigation. A la demande du Gouvernement du Pakistan, trois importantes missions de l'UNESCO ont travaillé sur place afin d'envisager des mesures appropriées de sauvegarde, en particulier, le pompage des eaux salines.
