English transcription: The problem of world over-population grows more soute year by year and by 1967 the United Nations had established the UN Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), the role of which is to make governments aware of the economic and social implications of population problems ; to give sustained aassistance to developing countries seeking to solve these problems ; to help organizations involved with population questions to make UNFPA-supported projects effective. For its part, UNESCO's activities in this field are concentrated on aspects of education, communication, social and human sciences. All the village mid-wives have been mobilized as auxiliaries of the Government health and maternity services (a project assisted by WHO). Here, one of them visiting a large family.
