In Orissa, the sickness rate fell from 20 per thousand persons to 1.5; in Mysore, one malaria engineer and a nurse covered 1,600 square miles and helped to reduce the incidence from 38 per cent to 11 per cent. A fourth team in Madras, achieved a similar reduction. The hard work of the locally recruited personnel contributed substantially to these successes.
