Subseries consists of bulletins issued by the Preparatory Commission to inform a general public of news on the Organization's activities. The bulletins are arranged in chronological order based on their issue number.

Press Conference

Subseries consists of one document with a transcribed speech from a Preparatory Commission press conference held 18 October 1946. The speech was made by M. Montagnier, Head Counsellor in charge of the First Session of the General Conference and the Month of UNESCO. The speech is about the Month of UNESCO - the intellectual and artistic exhibitions thqt were to take place at the same time as the General Conference.

Series consists of official correspondence with member states, associate member states, non-members and territories. Beyond the official correspondence, the files for any country can be further broken down into the following files: D - relations with the Permanent Delegation; F - financial contributions; SF - Special Fund; TA - Technical Assistance; UNDP - UNDP projects/programming; A 118 - Funds-in-trust; A 562 - Briefings for the Director-General; AMS - Aid to member states (participation programme); AR - annual reports; Club - UNESCO clubs or local groups; NC - relations with the National Commission; and, NLM - national liberation movements.

Subseries consists of agendas and summary records of the meetings of the CAME Finance and Establishment Committee. The documents are arranged with the agendas first in chronological order, followed by the summary records in chronological order.

Staff circulars

Subseries consists of Staff circulars issued by the Preparatory Commission. The circulars were directed at staff to keep them informed of general administrative matters, such as, for example, the working hours or the transfer of the staff to Paris.

UNESCO Courier

The original UNESCO Courier was a monthly printed magazine published between 1947 to 2001. It was published in more than thirty languages including braille. The magazine is written journalistically and each issue looks into a single subject from different angles. From 2002 to 2005 the UNESCO Courier was followed by the New Courier, published in three languages.

Subseries consists of verbatim and summary records of the Plenary Meetings of the Preparatory Commission from the first to sixth session. The documents have codes (Prep.Com./SR, Prep.Com./VR, or similar but with the session number included) and are arranged by this code and in chronological order.

Speeches of the Director General

This collection contains speeches and addresses of the Director General of UNESCO reproduced as Secretariat documents. There are also speeches as manuscripts, appeals and messages, some interventions and statements in meetings, also occasional interviews, in general, texts delivered or intended to be delivered orally.

Subseries consists of 71 documents (excluding any revisions and addenda) which were issued under the general code Prep.Com. The subseries is arranged in numeric order based on the codes.

Editorial Committee of the Study on Fundamental Education

Subseries consists of the documents of the Editorial Committee responsible for editing the material gathered from world authorities in fundamental education in advance of the First Session of the General Conference of UNESCO. The resulting publication explained UNESCO's suggested programme of action in the field of fundamental education. The Committee's documents have no document code but are arranged roughly in reverse chronological order.

Diapositifs

La sous-série des diapositifs contient des négatifs de diapositifs d'évènements auxquels l'IBI participa, ou organisa. On y trouve notamment des diapositives du séminaire inaugural de l'Institut pour le développement de l'informatique (IBIDI), tenu à la technopolis de Bari, du 24 au 30 novembre 1985, ainsi que les diapositifs d'une communication donnée par Enrique Melrose, directeur du département de l'Amérique latine à l'occasion d'une conférence indéterminée. D'autres diapositifs contiennent des éléments de présentation de l'IBI, dont certains à l'occasion de la conférence SPIN et celles d'un accord de coopération engageant l'IBI de nature indéterminée. Trois autres boîtes de diapositifs renseignement sur des réunions de l'IBI.

Une grande partie des diapositifs présentants l'IBI semble être du matériel utilisé dans la confection des enregistrements promotionnels audiovisuels de l'IBI. Ceux-ci pourront être consultés dans les ensembles de la sous-série des cassettes vidéos magnétiques, particulièrement le dossier "Présentation de l'IBI".
