On this premise a team of educators, expert in experimental methods for improving teaching of educators, expert in experimental methods for improving teaching techniques, have started a thirst for knowledge which may well change the whole concept of education in Bolivia’s grade school system. In a new school built by the Government in the Miraflores section of La Paz, the Bolivian teaching staff, supervised by a team of UNESCO experts is placing the emphasis during the formative years on teaching children how to learn. Functional laboratories in mathematics, grammar and the social and natural sciences give relative independence to the student body so that the pace of perception is governed by individual capacity to absorb knowledge.
